The Retreat

Spilies is a renovated house on Korakas beach in south Crete. It holds two homes — an apartment for four and a studio for two — and both open onto a shared terrace directly above the pebbles.

Under the bamboo pergola on the terrace — the hammock strung between posts, lounge seating and dining table, the low stone wall and the beach and sea beyond

Most of the day happens on the terrace. It is shaded with bamboo, there is a hammock, and the beach starts a few steps past the low wall.
